Activate Partial Nudity Filtering Level

Canopy’s internet filter has two levels of protection:

1. Standard filtering, which blocks images and videos that contain full nudity or pornography.

2. Partial Nudity filtering, which blocks images and videos that contain minimal clothing and partial nudity images and videos (like bikini or underwear photos), full nudity, or pornography.

When Canopy’s Device Protection is active, it will automatically filter at the Standard level. To turn on Partial Nudity filtering, follow these steps:

Please note that the Partial Nudity feature can only be seen and turned on if Device Protection is already on.

To activate Partial Nudity Protection level open the Canopy app or web dashboard, select the device profile you want to activate Partial Nudity Protection for, tap Settings and toggle the button next to Partial Nudity Protection.

The Partial Nudity feature will affect some social media apps:

On Android:
When the feature is turned on, the protected device will receive a pop-up message stating that a few social media apps (such as Facebook, Instagram, etc.) will redirect to their web based equivalents (such as facebook.com or instagram.com) so that Canopy can block content containing minimal clothing and partial nudity.

On iPhone:
Apps like Facebook & Instagram will be reinstalled as bookmarks on the shield’s home screen. These bookmarks will direct the apps to their web based equivalents (such as facebook.com or instagram.com) so that Canopy can block content containing minimal clothing and partial nudity.
