Canopy’s Removal Prevention feature for Android devices stops any attempt to remove or disable Canopy Shield without your permission.
During the Android installation process, Canopy will ask if you want to enable Removal Prevention. We strongly recommend enabling it so Canopy can protect your device as comprehensively as possible. Removal Prevention includes anti-tamper measures that prevent efforts to disable Canopy, such as deleting the app, turning off certain permissions, or resetting the device to factory settings.
If you choose not to enable Removal Prevention during the initial installation process, you can always do so later from the main Canopy app or your Canopy web dashboard.
To enable Removal Prevention, please follow these steps:
- Open the Canopy app or log in to the Canopy web dashboard.
- Choose the profile of the device you want to enable Removal Prevention for. On the Canopy app, your device profiles will appear across the top of your home screen. On the Canopy web dashboard, they will appear along the left side of your screen.
- Click the Settings button.
- On the Settings tab, scroll to locate Removal Prevention and toggle the switch to “on” position.
If you wish to remove Canopy from your protected device later, you must disable Removal Prevention first. To do so, simply follow the same steps and turn the Removal Prevention switch to the gray “off” position.
